And of course wouldn't you know it the following year my uncle's boat wouldn't start on the lake, and he was several miles away. He contacted us on the Motorola radio and we went out and towed him in. Without the two-way radios he would have had to use a single oar to get his quite big bass boat back to camp.
Getting these radios is one of the best buys I have ever done. Something else I love is that these radios come with rechargeable batteries so you don't have to bring a lot of batteries with you when you use them. You can even be updated on the weather with the weather band that these radios is accompanied with.
And as my mother pointed out, these Motorola radios are great for a lot of other things also. On a trip to Disney, my mother took the radios with her as she was bringing 6 of her grandchildren on the trip with her. Her fear was that one of the kids would wander off and get lost. While no one went missing, that was truly an outstanding idea she had.
Likewise, we have started to take these radios hunting with us as the land we hunt on is extensive and we like to know when people leave. You have no idea what a time saver this can be unless you have ever been walking around the woods trying to find someone you can't find, simply because they got cold and decided to go home.
