Did I just get screwed with a timeshare? (RCI)?
I purchased a timeshare in Vegas at the Grandview Resort a few miles away from the strip. It's a very nice resort and we got a floating 1 bedroom unit for week 11 (annually) and 2 bonus weeks for $13,000. It's a year round "RED" so there's no off season. The maintenance fee seemed reasonable, only $250/yr and $85/yr RCI membership.
I wasn't expecting this low of a price and I actually was absolutely against purchasing until I heard the numbers. I feel that I should have negotiated it down some, but when I heard $13k, I figured it was a good deal.
I've been reading up on it and I've seen a lot of complaints about trading resorts. I figure that some of them are b/c a lack of trading power and from what I can tell, I should be pretty strong there.
Does it sound like I got screwed? Has anyone's experiences using their timeshare been positive? I just want to be reassured that I didn't throw away money. We vacation often and probably have spent $3-4k in the past year on hotels.

Not sure about your particular case, but, you could always try to trade time in your time share for time in a different time share. My friend has a time share in Captiva and he has done that.
