I am looking at buying a house at the river (tempatures get to 130) that was made of brick. I am wondering how well brick does as insulation. There is no room to add more traditional insulation.Thanks for your help.

We just moved from a frame house to a brick house. Our temperatures however don't get as high as 130 but we can drop to 20 below zero in the wintertime. One thing I noticed is that our brick house is much less drafty than the frame house was. Since brick has a higher thermal mass as noted in one of the other answers it warms up slowly and then releases heat at night. This would tend to make your interior temperatures much more stable.
